Confidentiality
Designed with student privacy in mind
EHRD Virtual TA saves chat history so the tool can support learning and improve instruction, but the system is designed to reduce exposure of student identity whenever data is reviewed.
Consent is required
Students are asked to consent before using the assistant because conversations are saved for learning support, instructional improvement, and possible de-identified research analysis.
Instructor review protects identity
When instructors review chat history and learning patterns, student names are hidden so the focus stays on course improvement rather than individual surveillance.
Research use should be de-identified
If data is used for research, direct identifiers such as names, emails, student IDs, and other identifying details should be removed from reporting and analysis.
Use it for course learning
The assistant is meant for course-related questions. Students should avoid entering unnecessary personal or sensitive information when asking for help.
